Director Saravana Rajan and producer Dayanidhi Alagiri under the banner of Meeka Entertainment, #VADACURRY has lots of fun elements on offer with few thriller action.
Everyone must have been little excited to see this pair(Jai-Swathi) again on big screen after #SUBRAMANIAPURAM . But this movie is completely in a different genre from that. Even in the romance sequences(not in the sense of 1980's and 2010's, i meant the complete genre of the movie).
You all might have a doubt regarding the kind of genre of this movie ,when it is titled as #VADACURRY. To be frank, the title & the movie doesn't have any connection to each other. In fact, the director itself confesses the same thing through a character(RJ Balaji - Vdacurry) in the film in the beginning of the movie itself.
In this movie "Vadacurry", it deals with love and some interesting happenstances that occur due to the consequences of a few actions related to love and the mobile which Jai has.
Jai plays as Sathish, a medical representative, who wishes to live a simple life with a decent job, a proper bike and a good mobile phone. And there comes his problem, where he faced many struggles due to his mobile phone. Thus, his mobile phone plays a larger role(important role too), contributing to the hilarious sequences in the first half and the suspense and action in the second half.

RJ Balaji acts as Jai's friend(supporting male , also as vadacurry). As usual like his RJ(Radio Jockey) work with his spontaneous timing counter and dialogues, he had made the audience to laugh for his counter like ‘kadacha kanji thanni, illana kuzhai thanni’ and many more, has bought a cherished laugh from his side.
Swathi acts as a normal girl who goes to office regularly and falls in love with Jai after a few confusions between her friend, Jai and RJ Balaji. Although, she doesn't have a major role to be played in the movie, in the second half it is the actions of Jai’s desperation to grab her attention.
Praveen’s editing is crisp only in the second half, especially the little clock transition portraying the time lapse, when Jai waits for Swathi. Except that remaining portions are not upto the mark. Could have made much better. Too much of collaboration during the bike chase between Jai and Villan gang, even i few other sequences too.
The much awaited Sunny Leone's song(Low'u aana lifeú high aaga maari poochu) turns out to be a fictional/dramatic addition to the script which could have either been omitted or placed better. Sunny Leone's presence was just of about 2min(aprox), her presences will not be even through out the song. Even though , her presence was a little bit, audience's response was treamandous , even Jai hasn't had such a screaming entrance in the movie, but Sunny Leone had an amazing screaming and dancing entrance from the audience side.
The movie has a surprise in the cast with director Venkat Prabhu and actor PremJi Amaran.
Bgm was amazing , and the credits goes to Merwin Solomon and Vivek Shiva, since they have done a decent work with the background score that kept the movie engrossing all the way.
The i-phone song (Ullangaiyil Ennaivaithu) is a creative master-piece with brilliant visuals that features the plight of Jai, packaged inside a mobile phone. The way of thinking was amazing , where Jai struck's inside I-Phone and runs with the apk's like TEMPLE RUN, TALKING TOM, VECTOR & Vampire
1st Half : Comedy, Romance
2nd Half : Action-Thriller, comedy
Plus : Casting, story, screenplay, BGM
Minus : Unwanted animated song in 2nd half, simple story little dragged and the twists(turning point) are not upto the mark.
Overall, it's an above average flick but it's one of d good movie given by Jai but not the best. Could watch with family , since RJ Balaji has done an decent job to make you laugh during each and every presence made by him on screen. You wont be dis-appointed while coming out of the theater .
RATING : 3/5
